About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Midwife to join our maternal and child healthcare team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality antenatal, intrapartum, postnatal, and newborn care while ensuring a safe and positive experience for mothers and their babies.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive antenatal, labour, delivery, and postnatal care.
Monitor the health and wellbeing of mothers and newborns before, during, and after delivery.
Assist in normal vaginal deliveries and promptly identify complications requiring medical intervention.
Educate and counsel expectant and new mothers on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, family planning, and newborn care.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
Ensure strict compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
Collaborate effectively with obstetricians, paediatricians, nurses, and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Participate in emergency obstetric care and respond promptly to maternal and neonatal emergencies.
Promote a culture of compassionate, patient-centred, and evidence-based care.
Requirements
Registered Midwife (RM) with a valid practising licence issued by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Registered Nurse (RN) qualification is an added advantage.
Minimum of 3 years\' post-qualification experience in a reputable hospital or maternity facility.
Sound knowledge of maternal and newborn care practices.
Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
Strong teamwork, professionalism, and commitment to quality patient care.
