Description
Ensure safe MMU operation by performing daily pre-start safety checks, inspecting all systems and controls, verifying safe conditions, and reporting any issues to the Site Supervisor.
Take ownership of MMU care by learning the IBIS Control System, identifying abnormal conditions, performing first-line maintenance, maintaining cleanliness, and decontaminating the unit as scheduled.
Assemble primers safely and to specification by collecting materials, referencing blast plans, securing components, inspecting defects, and ensuring proper labeling.
Prime blast holes accurately and safely by reviewing blast designs, placing primers and detonators correctly, installing lead lines and blasting cord, and inspecting each hole for compliance.
Conduct on-bench quality checks by reviewing designs, measuring drill patterns, hole depths, and stemming lengths, documenting findings, correcting deviations, and reporting risks to the Site Supervisor.
Support service work instruction and safety improvements by participating in training, staying current on standards and procedures, providing feedback, and reporting incidents or operational issues.
Participate in training sessions and actively seek answers to queries on a daily and as-needed basis.
Comply with operational processes by keeping knowledge up to date, applying correct procedures, and addressing concerns as they arise.
Implement SHE practices by understanding required actions, executing them effectively, and reviewing outcomes within deadlines or as specified by procedures.
Maintain effective stakeholder relationships by liaising with internal and external stakeholders, exchanging feedback, and collaborating as needed.
Contribute to team success by participating in team activities, identifying support needs, helping and actively engaging with team members daily.
Pursue self-development by identifying growth areas, seeking capacity-building opportunities, obtaining approval, and completing development activities successfully.
Requirements
Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent
Code 14 Driver's license (with handling of a manual transmission gearbox)
Professional Driver Permit (PrDP) for Dangerous Goods
Blasting Assistant Certificate will be advantageous
Competency A Certificate will be advantageous
