Requirements for Appointment
Be a Kenyan Citizen;
Certificate in Mortuary Sciences from a recognized institution;
Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution; and
Knowledge of relevant legislation.
Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure that the mortuary equipment and other machinery are functioning properly and in the right condition;
Provide proper record keeping of documentation at the mortuary;
Receive, prepare, preserve and tagging of bodies for proper identification;
Prepare bodies for burial by cleaning and embalming them before release to family members;
Maintain proper cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation of the mortuary; and
Assist in autopsy procedures under the supervision of a pathologist.
