Our client, a growing organisation with a fleet of heavy commercial vehicles, is seeking to recruit a highly experienced and hands-on Motor Vehicle / Automotive Mechanic.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing heavy commercial vehicles to ensure optimal performance, safety and minimal operational downtime.

Key Responsibilities


Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and undertake appropriate repairs.
Service and maintain diesel engines and related vehicle systems.
Inspect vehicles regularly and identify potential mechanical problems before breakdowns occur.
Troubleshoot and repair vehicle electrical systems.
Maintain and repair hydraulic systems and components.
Conduct routine servicing, inspections and maintenance as scheduled.
Respond to vehicle breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, servicing and maintenance activities.
Ensure tools, equipment and workshop facilities are properly maintained.
Follow appropriate safety procedures and maintenance standards.
Provide technical recommendations on vehicle repairs and maintenance requirements.


Requirements


Diploma in Automotive Engineering or a related field.
Minimum 7 years hands-on experience in motor vehicle/automotive mechanics, preferably involving heavy commercial vehicles.
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems and automotive electrical systems.
Proven ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.
Experience working with Chinese-manufactured heavy commercial vehicles, particularly HOWO trucks, is an added advantage.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good analytical and diagnostic abilities.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
High level of integrity, reliability and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a demanding operational environment.
