Job Summary


We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented National Fleet Monitoring Officer to oversee the real-time monitoring and reporting of the company's transportation assets across Nigeria.
The successful candidate will be responsible for tracking the movement and utilization of all company vehicles, including trucks, vans, and other fleet assets, ensuring operational visibility, driver compliance, and timely reporting.
The role will provide actionable transport intelligence and business insights that support operational efficiency, asset security, route optimization, and informed decision-making across the organization.


Job Responsibilities


Monitor the real-time movement and utilization of all company transportation assets, including trucks, vans, cars, and other fleet vehicles across Nigeria.
Track drivers' adherence to approved routes, schedules, delivery timelines, and company transport policies.
Detect, investigate, and report route deviations, unauthorized stops, excessive idle time, speeding, and other operational irregularities.
Produce accurate daily, weekly, and monthly fleet monitoring reports to support business planning and operational decision-making.
Analyze fleet movement data and provide actionable insights to improve fleet utilization, delivery efficiency, and transport performance.
Coordinate with transport managers, regional teams, warehouse teams, and drivers to resolve operational issues promptly.
Monitor vehicle availability and utilization to ensure optimal deployment of transport assets nationwide.
Escalate security incidents, vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and other transport-related risks to the appropriate stakeholders.
Maintain accurate records and dashboards of fleet movements, transport activities, and key performance indicators.
Support route optimization initiatives through data analysis and operational intelligence.
Ensure compliance with company transport policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Recommend continuous improvements to fleet monitoring processes, reporting systems, and transport operations.


Job Requirements and Skills


Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
3 - 5 years of experience in fleet operations, transport monitoring, logistics coordination, fleet analytics, or a similar role.
Experience using GPS tracking platforms, telematics systems, fleet management software, or vehicle tracking applications.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret transport and fleet performance data and generate meaningful business reports.
Excellent understanding of transportation, distribution, and logistics operations within an FMCG environment.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and reporting tools; knowledge of Power BI or similar business intelligence tools is an added advantage.
Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
High attention to detail with the ability to monitor multiple transport operations simultaneously.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to transport-related incidents.
Willingness to work flexible hours when operational requirements demand.
