The National Sales Manager is responsible for leading and executing the national sales strategy to drive revenue growth, profitability, and long term customer relationships. The role oversees regional sales teams, key accounts, and sales operations while ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and consistent execution.


Key Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Execution:


Develop and implement a national sales strategy aligned with business goals. Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitor activity to inform planning and decision making. Lead sales forecasting, budgeting, and annual sales planning processes.


Revenue and Performance Management:


Deliver national sales targets for revenue, margin, and customer growth. Oversee pricing strategies, discount approvals, and contract negotiations to support sustainable profitability. Drive consistent sales performance through structured performance management and reporting.


Key Account Management:


Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers. Identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts and support new customer acquisition. Manage escalated customer issues to ensure service quality and retention.


Team Leadership and Development:


Lead, coach, and develop regional sales managers and sales teams. Foster a performance driven, accountable, and customer focused sales culture. Support ongoing training and capability development across the sales function.


Operational Collaboration:


Ensure effective territory coverage and sales execution. Work closely with internal teams to support delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational alignment. Provide regular performance reports, dashboards, and insights to senior leadership.


Governance and Compliance:


Ensure sales activities comply with company policies, pricing frameworks, contractual standards, and ethical business practices.


Qualifications and Experience:


Relevant tertiary qualification preferred. Extensive experience in senior sales roles with a strong track record of leading teams and managing key accounts at a national or regional level. Strong commercial and financial understanding, including pricing, margins, and forecasting. Proficiency in CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
