Introduction
STOOS CONSULTING is expanding its Nigeria-based expert roster and invites applications from highly qualified trainers, advisors, and subject matter experts across the fields of economic recovery, livelihoods development, private sector development, workforce integration, TVET modernization, entrepreneurship, MSME growth, and market systems strengthening.
Nigeria’s context—characterized by youth unemployment, regional economic disparities, displacement in the North-East, climate pressures on agriculture, and a rapidly evolving informal economy—requires innovative, market-responsive, and locally grounded expertise. STOOS supports humanitarian and development partners in designing and delivering inclusive economic empowerment programmes that strengthen employment pathways, enterprise development, market resilience, and sustainable local economic growth.
We are seeking professionals capable of operating within complex humanitarian and development environments, working with donor-funded programmes, government institutions, private sector actors, and community-based structures to support economic resilience and livelihood recovery across Nigeria.

Core Responsibilities
Selected experts may be engaged to support STOOS and its partners to:
• Conduct economic assessments, labor market studies, and market system analyses.
• Develop training curricula, toolkits, operational guidelines, and enterprise development manuals adapted to the Nigerian context.
• Deliver technical training, mentorship, and institutional capacity building for SMEs, TVET centers, cooperatives, and community organizations.
• Facilitate private sector partnerships, business networks, and market linkages.
• Support enterprise grant programmes and business coaching initiatives.
• Integrate gender equality, youth inclusion, disability inclusion, and safeguarding principles into programme design and delivery.
• Provide monitoring, evaluation, and impact reporting to support programme learning and accountability.
• Contribute to policy dialogue and advisory work on economic empowerment and livelihoods strategies.

Required Qualifications
• Residence in Nigeria with strong contextual and regional knowledge.
• Fluency in English and local Nigerian languages is highly desirable.
• Degree or professional qualification in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Agriculture, Energy, Finance, Development Studies, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 5–7 years of professional experience in livelihoods programming, TVET, enterprise development, or economic empowerment initiatives.
• Experience working with international NGOs, UN agencies, development partners, or donor-funded programmes is an advantage.
• Strong skills in training delivery, institutional advisory, programme design, and stakeholder engagement.

Desired Profile
• Experience working in humanitarian or fragile contexts, particularly in regions affected by displacement or economic vulnerability.
• Ability to work within multi-stakeholder environments involving government, private sector, and civil society actors.
• Strong analytical, facilitation, and reporting skills.
• Commitment to ethical practice, safeguarding, and inclusive development approaches.
