Position Summary
Qualified applicants will play a crucial role in shaping the future of nursing by developing and implementing educational programs for aspiring nurses. They are responsible for creating curriculum, conducting lectures, and providing hands-on training to students. Nurse Educators also assess the progress of their students and provide guidance and support where necessary.
Responsibilities
Facilitate students' learning and contribute to curriculum development.
Coordinate classroom and laboratory activities, evaluate student learning and maintain academic records and attendance.
Develop scholarly pedagogic outputs such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts.
Promote collegiality within the academic community by serving on committees, participating in faculty and staff meetings and departmental activities.
Stay current in the academic discipline through professional development opportunities.
Be available for academic support outside of the classroom.
Other responsibilities may be assigned.
Qualifications/ Experience
Applicants MUST:
Possess a good first degree in Nursing Science (BNSc).
Master's degree in nursing or in Nursing Education is an added advantage.
Must possess a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or Nurse Educator certification.
Be registered and licensed to practice by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
Minimum of 2 -4 years clinical and/or teaching experience.
ICT skills (Microsoft Office, CBT, e-teaching tools).
Be a committed Christian.
Note: Retired and qualified Nurses who possess the required educator certifications and are interested in serving as Nurse or Midwife Educators are encouraged to apply.
