Job Description
The Nutritionist is responsible for providing nutrition assessment, counselling, and dietary support to patients within KTHSMB healthcare facilities.
The role involves assessing patients' nutritional needs, developing appropriate dietary plans, monitoring nutritional status, and supporting clinical teams in promoting optimal patient health and recovery.
The Nutritionist will work under the supervision of a senior nutritionist, dietitian, or medical officer to deliver effective and patient-centred nutrition services.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct nutritional assessments of patients as directed
Assess patients' dietary needs and nutritional status
Develop and recommend appropriate meal and dietary plans
Provide nutrition counselling and education to patients and caregivers
Monitor patients' nutritional progress and make appropriate recommendations
Support the management of patients with nutrition-related conditions
Maintain accurate nutrition assessment and patient records
Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in patient care
Promote healthy eating and appropriate dietary practices
Participate in nutrition education and health promotion activities
Ensure compliance with relevant nutrition and food safety standards
Prepare reports on nutrition-related activities and patient outcomes
Requirements & Qualifications
Diploma, degree, or recognized qualification in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field
Basic knowledge of human nutrition and dietary management
Understanding of nutritional assessment and counselling practices
Good communication and patient-care skills
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Relevant professional experience.
