KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


Compile health reports on a monthly and quarterly basis. Awareness and education of employees. Aiding and training on the job training to the Occupational Health personnel as part of continuous education. Sign off on medical assessment for placements. Manage and provide quality professional Occupational Healthcare to the company. Assist the Occupational Health personnel to review the health risk assessment. Compile feedback reports and assist with development and implementation of a risk based medical surveillance, programme, and matrix. Assist with ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the Occupational Health programs by the clinic.
Directing and interpreting hygiene surveys. Interpreting hearing conservation tests and overseeing conservation hearing programs. Conduct medical examinations, assess medical surveillance results and trends. Conduct work related clinical matters, fitness and return to work assessments and incapacity assessments. Assist with injuries on duty and medical care. Advise the company on Occupational Health matters. Oversee the development and review policies, procedures, and protocols in line with current or changing legislation.
Attend to employees' illness affecting work performance. Interpreting laboratory and radiography reports and recommending appropriate treatment. Ensure that vaccines are scheduled properly. Prepare medical reports on referrals with recommendations to management. The employee shall work a minimum of 8 hours per week (preferably every Tuesday). By agreement between the parties, the working hours may be extended when the need arises from the Company, in line with operational requirements and applicable labour legislation.


JOB REQUIREMENTS: ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE


MBChB Degree and a Postgrad Diploma in Occupational Health and Medicine
Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Doctor and Occupational Medical Practitioner
At least 5 years' experience as a Medical Doctor and 2 years' experience in Occupational health and medicine.
