We are a Christian school in the education sector looking to recruit an additional Occupational Therapist. He/She will be responsible for conducting physical assessments of children, developing and following doctor-prescribed treatment plans, assessing the surrounding classroom environment and developing additional physical rehabilitation programs.
Responsibilities
Learner Assessment
Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify learners' physical, emotional, developmental or social challenges.
Evaluate learners' home and/or work environments to determine potential barriers to independence.
Treatment Planning
Develop individualized treatment plans based on learner assessments and goals.
Collaborate with learners, families, caregivers and interdisciplinary teams to set realistic, measurable outcomes.
Therapeutic Interventions
Design and implement therapeutic activities to improve learners' abilities in daily living and working.
Use adaptive tools and techniques to assist learners in maximizing functional independence.
Provide rehabilitative exercises and education on energy conservation and joint protection.
Monitoring and Evaluation
Monitor learners' progress and adapt treatment plans as needed.
Maintain accurate documentation of treatment sessions, progress notes, and outcomes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy from a recognized institution.
Valid registration and practicing license with the Kenya Occupational Therapists Association (KOTA).
Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience, preferably in a school, pediatric or rehabilitation setting.
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
