Key Responsibilities
Assess patients' functional participation and develop, implement, and monitor individualised occupational therapy treatment plans to improve independence and rehabilitation outcomes.
Deliver interventions including ADL retraining, neurorehabilitation, cognitive rehabilitation, upper limb rehabilitation, splinting, wheelchair seating, vocational rehabilitation, and the prescription of assistive devices and equipment.
Conduct home and workplace assessments, provide caregiver and patient education, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on patient-centred goals, and maintain accurate clinical documentation and billing records.
Requirements
Registered with the HPCSA Board for Occupational Therapy, Medical Orthotics and Prosthetics, and Arts Therapy in the category Independent Practice.
Proven experience in physical rehabilitation, with strong clinical reasoning, holistic functional assessment, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Sound knowledge of the Health Professions Act, Occupational Therapy Scope of Practice Regulations, HPCSA and OTASA guidelines, with a commitment to professionalism, empathy, accountability, teamwork, and continuous learning.
