Requirements :
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma or degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
Current registration with the South African Nursing Council. A minimum of seven (7) years appropriate/recognizable experience in Nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. A qualification in Health Service Management/ Nursing Administration/Management.
Duties :
Supervise and evaluate quality of nursing care as directed by Professional scope of practice and set Nursing standards within a professional /legal framework. Implement nursing legislation and related framework and ethical nursing practices. Manage resources effectively and efficiently in the unit. Compile and analyse reports to improve quality of patient care.
Participate in training, research and self-development. Be allocated to work night shifts and relieve the supervisor when required. Perform as an Operational Manager in accordance with the Scope of Practice Demonstrate effective communication with patients, supervisors and other health professionals and junior colleagues. Implementation of National Core Standards.
