Job Summary


The Operations Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing pharmaceutical warehouse operations to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient storage, handling, and distribution of medicines and healthcare products. The role ensures strict adherence to regulatory requirements, Good Distribution Practice (GDP), and company standards, while maintaining inventory accuracy, product integrity, and operational efficiency. The Pharmacist also provides professional oversight, supports quality assurance initiatives, and collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure timely order fulfilment and uninterrupted supply.


Key Responsibilities


Ensure compliance with PCN, NAFDAC, and GDP guidelines across all warehouse operations
Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cold-chain, segregation, controlled medicines)
Oversee inventory processes: receiving, put-away, picking, packing, dispatch, cycle counts, and reconciliation
Review and approve inbound and outbound products, ensuring batch tracking, expiry management, and documentation accuracy
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, damages, expiries, recalls, and non-conformances; implement CAPA
Coordinate regulatory inspections, internal audits, and ensure audit readiness and closure of findings
Collaborate with Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, and Logistics teams to support efficient order fulfilment and optimal stock levels
Develop, implement, and improve SOPs in line with regulatory and operational best practices
Train and supervise warehouse staff on GDP, SOPs, safety, and quality standards
Monitor KPIs (order accuracy, stock loss, turnaround time, compliance) and prepare reports
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards

Requirements


Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm or PharmD)
Valid license with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN)
3 - 5 years' experience in pharmaceutical warehouse operations, distribution, or supply chain
Experience with GDP, inventory management systems, and audit processes
Strong knowledge of Nigerian pharmaceutical regulations
Strong organizational, documentation, and leadership skills
Willingness to work in Ibadan and support extended operational hours
