In this role you will be responsible for:
Assisting in process monitoring, control and implementation of management instructions
Monitoring the metal slag analysis and report deviations to supervisor
Ensuring that the furnace is properly loaded
Conducting inspections on all floors of the furnace building
Monitoring and reporting of the tapping process of the furnace
Operating the furnace in accordance with established procedures and works instructions
Ensuring good housekeeping in the area of responsibility
Complying and adhering to the Health and Safety standards in the area of work
Adhering to all HSECQ requirements to ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures
Assisting in shutdown activities
About you:
Grade 12 or equivalent NQF level 4 qualification
Basic metallurgy and smelting knowledge
Basic Furnace and electrode operation understanding
SCADA and MES knowledge will be an advantage
Good administration, communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literate for the role
At least 2 Years' general furnace experience in a Smelter environment
