Job Summary


The Panel Beater is responsible for repairing, reshaping, and restoring damaged vehicle body parts to their original condition. The role supports production, rework, and after-sales services by ensuring vehicle body panels meet required quality, safety, and aesthetic standards.


Key Responsibilities

Body Repair & Panel Work


Assess damaged vehicles and identify repair requirements.
Repair dents, bends, and damaged panels using appropriate tools and techniques.
Remove, repair, and replace damaged body parts such as doors, fenders, bonnets, and bumpers.
Straighten vehicle frames and align body structures where necessary.


Fabrication & Finishing


Cut, shape, and weld metal panels where required.
Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, filling, and smoothing.
Ensure proper finishing of repaired panels for painting and final assembly.


Production & After-Sales Support


Support body assembly processes within the production line.
Carry out rework on defective or damaged units before delivery.
Assist after-sales teams with accident repairs and body restoration.


Quality Control


Ensure all repairs meet company quality standards and specifications.
Inspect completed work for alignment, smoothness, and finish.
Correct defects before final inspection.


Health, Safety & Environment


Comply with all company HSE policies and safety procedures.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment.


Requirements & Qualifications


Minimum of SSCE / Trade Test Certificate in Auto Body Repair or related field.
3 - 5 years' practical experience as a Panel Beater, preferably in automobile manufacturing or workshop environment.
Good knowledge of vehicle body structures and repair techniques.
Ability to use panel beating tools and equipment (hammers, dollies, welders, etc.).
Basic welding and fabrication skills are an added advantage.
Good attention to detail and workmanship.
Physical fitness and ability to work in a workshop setting.
