Job Description
Skilled in creating traditional hard copy patterns on a variety of ladieswear product as well as experience in working with an automated pattern making system ie: Gerber or Lectra
Able to create high volume based production ready patterns
Excellent ability to translate merchandiser / designer brief from technical pack to final pattern and sample
Be able to engage comfortably with both the design team and sample room team
Instruct sample machinists fluently on all technical make up points of samples
Technically understand and execute alteration changes and styling comments as supplied after sample submission to buyers fit review meeting
Advise production on any technical queries
Skilled in all types of ladies fashion fabrics and the translating of these fabrics into fashion garment, also able to combine fabric types (combo's)
Create and supply detailed positioning makers or required templates
Ability and skill to work with outsourced services ie: Pleating / ruching / embroidery / placement printing / washing and denim finishing processes
Be able to problem solve and advise on all technical aspects
Have the ability to work with an understanding of cost / fabric rating parameters

Qualifications and Experience
Must have a broad exposure in pattern making on all types of ladies wear products including: Dresses / Skirts / Blouses / Casual wear / Pants / Jackets and Coats
Minimum of 7 years experience within a similar volume based business
A consistent and methodical approach to pattern creation
Applicant to have completed a successful course in pattern making and computerised pattern making and show relative experience
Be able to successfully contribute in a fast paced environment
Have the ability to communicate fluently with all parties within a high volume based fashion retail business
