About the Role

The Northern Rangelands Trust (NRT) is seeking a qualified and experienced Payables and Receivables Accountant to support the organization's financial operations through effective management of accounts payable, receivable processes, cash flow, and grant-related financial reporting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial records, timely processing of payments and receivables, compliance with donor and organizational requirements, and strong financial accountability across NRT operations and projects.

Key Responsibilities


Process and verify vendor invoices and payments
Manage accounts receivable processes, invoicing, and payment tracking
Conduct bank reconciliations and support cash flow management
Support the financial management of donor-funded and conservancy-based projects
Maintain accurate financial records and accounting documentation
Prepare financial reports, reconciliations, and expenditure analyses
Support audits and ensure compliance with financial policies and donor requirements
Contribute to process improvement and strengthening of internal controls


Qualifications & Experience


Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field
CPA qualification (minimum Section Four)
At least 6 years of experience in accounts payable, receivables, reconciliations, and cash management
Experience supporting donor-funded projects or grants management is an added advantage
Familiarity with accounting systems, ERP platforms, and financial reporting tools
Registration with the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) will be an added advantage.
