Job Summary
The PET Blow Molding Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring blow molding machines used in the production of PET containers. The role focuses on achieving production targets while maintaining quality standards, minimizing waste, and ensuring efficient equipment performance.
Key Responsibilities
Machinery Operation:
Operate, start, monitor, and shut down blow molding machines in accordance with operational procedures and safety standards.
Parameter Monitoring & Adjustments
Monitor and adjust:
Oven temperatures
Blowing pressures
Cycle times
Air flow settings
Production recipes for various preforms
Material Handling:
Load preforms into machine hoppers and manage related production materials.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct routine visual inspections and measurements to ensure product quality standards are met.
Verify container specifications including:
Weight
Thickness distribution
Structural consistency
Preventive Maintenance:
Perform basic machine maintenance including:
Mold cleaning
Lubrication
Early identification of mechanical or electrical issues
Autonomous maintenance activities
Mold Changeovers:
Support mold and peripheral equipment changeovers in line with production schedules.
Assist in reducing downtime and improving operational efficiency.
Production Documentation:
Maintain accurate production logs, downtime reports, and scrap records.
Candidate Requirements
Educational Qualification:
Technical Secondary School Certificate, OND, or related qualification in Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Mechanics, Plastics Technology, or related fields.
Experience:
Must have 3 - 5 years' experience in plastic manufacturing, blow molding, or injection molding operations.
Mandatory Machine Experience:
Candidates must have hands-on operational experience with the following machines:
Sipa Machines for Injection
Sacmi Machines for Compression
KHS Machines for Blowing and Mixing
Technical Skills:
Experience operating blow molding equipment within beverage or packaging production environments.
Knowledge of PET thermal properties and production processes.
Ability to use measuring instruments such as:
Vernier calipers
Micrometers
Ability to interpret product specifications and technical documentation.
Working Conditions:
Availability to work rotational day and night shifts.
Exposure to moderate industrial noise and heat generated during production processes.
Ability to stand for extended periods and perform occasional material handling activities.
