Job Summary
Responsible for teaching Mathematics and Physics to secondary school students, developing their analytical and problem-solving skills, and preparing them for internal and external examinations, including WAEC and NECO.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the school curriculum.
Prepare lesson notes, assignments, tests, and examination materials.
Simplify complex concepts using practical examples and ICT resources.
Assess students' performance, provide feedback, and organise remedial lessons where necessary.
Maintain classroom discipline and accurate academic records.
Monitor students' progress and contribute to improved academic outcomes.
Participate in departmental meetings and other school activities.
Skills and Competencies
Strong knowledge of Mathematics and Physics.
Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Effective lesson planning and assessment skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational abilities.
Proficiency in ICT and modern teaching methods.
Patience, creativity, teamwork, and professionalism.
Educational Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Physics, Mathematics Education, Physics Education, or a related discipline.
Teaching qualification such as B.Ed. or PGDE is an advantage.
TRCN registration is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 2 - 3 years' relevant secondary school teaching experience preferred.
Experience preparing students for WAEC, NECO, and other external examinations is an advantage.
