Plan, prepare and deliver engaging Physics lessons in line with the school curriculum.
Teach Physics concepts clearly using practical examples, experiments and appropriate teaching resources.
Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, tests and examination questions.
Conduct and supervise practical Physics experiments in the laboratory, ensuring proper safety procedures are followed.
Assess students' understanding and monitor their academic progress.
Provide constructive feedback and appropriate support to students who require additional assistance.
Prepare students effectively for internal and external examinations, including WAEC, NECO, GCE, and relevant international examinations.
Maintain accurate records of students' attendance, performance and academic development.
Use technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning.
Participate in departmental meetings, staff development programmes and other school activities.
Maintain effective classroom management and promote a positive learning environment.
Communicate appropriately with management regarding students' academic progress where required.
Perform other duties assigned by the Head of Department or School Management.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (B.Sc./B.Ed.) in Physics, Applied Physics, Education (Physics) or a related field.
Minimum of 5years' teaching experience, preferably in a reputable secondary school.
Strong knowledge of the Nigerian secondary school Physics curriculum.
Experience preparing students for WAEC, NECO and/or IGCSE examinations is an advantage.
Good practical laboratory skills and the ability to conduct Physics experiments safely.
Excellent communication, classroom management and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use technology and digital learning tools effectively.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute positively to the school community.
Professional teaching qualification such as TRCN, PGDE or equivalent is an added advantage.
