PRIMARY PURPOSE
The plumber's role includes fixing of broken pipes and drains, installs pipework into new construction and retrofits or upgrades existing plumbing. Their duties include measuring and cutting pipe to length, welding joins for a leak-free junction and using the correct type of pipe and material for the job at hand.
This position is based in Maasai Mara
Detailed Responsibilities
Carry out regular maintenance of plumbing systems in the property.
Perform installation of plumbing systems in the camp premise.
Inspect previously installed plumbing systems in the camp.
Perform any necessary repairs to previously installed systems
Answer calls for plumbing issues arising in the camp.
Keep up to date with current safety regulations and requirements for the various plumbing systems.
Work carefully to follow all current regulations for plumbing work to ensure that all installed systems pass inspections
Communicate well with team members and fellow employees
Manage a work log
Keep detailed reports of work done at the camp
Provide information regarding plumbing system upkeep to maintenance head.
Inspection of all water heaters to ensure hot water is available in guest rooms.
Inspection of the sewerage system to ensure all are okay.
Take daily water reading consumption.
Check water level in main water tank and service tanks.
Inspect the well pumps and borehole pumps to ensure smooth operation.
Advise on when the water test is to be carried out.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualification:
Trade test Grade 2 or 3 in plumbing.
Experience:
3 or more years of trade experience as a plumber or plumber's apprentice
Skills:
Thorough knowledge of plumbing system maintenance and repairs
Time management skills
knowledge of operation and service of RO plant.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in client and co-worker relations
Understanding of current field regulations.
