Job Summary
The principal is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the school.
He oversees the staff, students, checks records and maintains discipline to achieve the overall educational success of the school.
Key Responsibilities
Closely monitor and give constant progress reports on staff/students towards achieving the enunciated goals of the school.
Coordinate, supervise, analyse and write reports on all tests and examinations conducted in the college.
Ensure all statutory records are maintained and updated by teachers, e.g diaries, registers, YLP, SOL, lesson notes, etc.
Prepare the school's academic timetable and cover promptly
Ensure the school's academic timetable is adequately followed and attendance of lessons by students/staff is promptly monitored.
Monitor the preparation of students for academic competitions.
Ensure registration of students for external examinations.
Maintain discipline of students and staff.
Liaise with all related bodies for unique programmes that will boost the image of the school as a centre of excellence.
Work in close contact with the heads of departments for successful academic programmes.
Coordinate the activities of the heads of departments.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Education.
Registered teacher (TRCN).
Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods.
Proficient knowledge of applicable laws, policies and procedures.
Proficient in computer skills.
Availability to work extended hours on occasion.
Excellent people skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Outstanding organisational skills.
