Principal (Private Equity) at Hire Resolve

Hire Resolve is seeking an execution-ready, highly analytical Principal (Private Equity) on behalf of a premier independent Private Equity firm. Reporting directly to the Partner / Managing Partner, this key leadership position owns day-to-day transaction workflows—leading deal teams from origination, complex financial modelling, valuation, and due diligence through to deal negotiation, IC approval, and post-investment portfolio monitoring.


Key Performance Areas:


Transaction Execution & Management: Drive end-to-end transaction execution across live deal pipelines, taking full operational ownership of financial modelling, valuation, and commercial/financial due diligence.
Deal Negotiation & Structuring: Comfortably negotiate transaction terms, legal documentation, and deal structures directly with counterparties, sellers, and advisors.
IC Memoranda & Reporting: Author high-standard investment memoranda, comprehensive risk assessments, and Investment Committee (IC) papers for board and partner review.
Portfolio Monitoring & Value Creation: Oversee post-investment monitoring, financial tracking, strategic value creation initiatives, and exit planning across portfolio companies.
Team Leadership & Development: Supervise, mentor, and build the capabilities of junior deal team members (Associates and Analysts) through execution lifecycles.


Minimum Requirements:


Education & Credentials: CA(SA), CFA, or equivalent postgraduate financial qualification preferred (candidates with alternative backgrounds will be considered if backed by an exceptional deal track record).
Experience: 7 to 9 years of direct experience within Private Equity, Growth Equity, Investment Banking M&A, Big 4 Transaction Services / Corporate Finance, or In-House M&A / Corporate Development at JSE-listed groups.
Execution Track Record: Proven experience leading (not merely supporting) financial modelling, valuations, due diligence streams, and transaction execution on live deals.
Technical Mastery: Advanced financial modelling, transaction structuring, credit/equity risk evaluation, and investment presentation skills.
Target Locations: Primary preference for Johannesburg
