Product Manager âÃÂàLending, FX & Stablecoin Products at Umba

You will define and deliver new features across vehicle financing, SME lending (UmbaPay), and FX and cross-border settlement products, including USDC-powered accounts and payments. This role blends product ownership, execution, and regulatory understanding—working closely with engineering, compliance, and banking operations to launch and scale products that connect fiat and digital rails.
Responsibilities
Own the product strategy and roadmap across lending, FX, and stablecoin initiatives in Kenya and Nigeria.
Expand and automate Vehicle Finance and SME lending (UmbaPay) offerings.
Lead the design and rollout of cross-border USDC accounts and settlements, integrating with established payment partners.
Define and prioritize use cases competing with other players—including FX management, virtual USD accounts, and business payments.
Work with engineering and design teams to deliver features rapidly while maintaining quality and compliance.
Collaborate with compliance and legal teams to ensure regulatory alignment under CBK, SEC Nigeria, and VASP frameworks.
Write clear and detailed PRDs, aligning product goals with technical feasibility and regulatory requirements.
Establish KPIs across transaction volumes, lending performance, FX spread revenue, and wallet adoption.
Conduct competitive analysis to identify gaps in digital banking, stablecoin, and export-payment products.
Partner with growth and operations to execute go-to-market strategies and onboard early customers.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree required (engineering, economics, data science, or a related field preferred).
3 - 4 years of Product Management experience in fintech, payments, or lending.
Proven ability to deliver technically complex financial products end-to-end.
Strong understanding of digital payments, FX, remittances, or stablecoins.
Excellent project management skills; bias toward shipping fast.
Comfort working with APIs, backend systems, and external financial partners.
Experience coordinating with regulators or operating in licensed financial institutions.
