Job Objective
The Production/Factory Manager will oversee the daily operations of the cable manufacturing plant.
The primary focus is ensuring smooth shop-floor operations—from wire drawing, stranding, and insulation to extrusion, armoring, and final winding—while maintaining strict compliance with safety, optimal machinery utilization, and NIS/SON quality metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Scheduling: Plan, organize, and direct daily manufacturing activities to ensure production targets are met efficiently while minimizing material waste and downtime.
Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all cables manufactured comply with local and international standards (SON, NIS, IEC, ISO). Oversee routine testing procedures (tensile strength, conductivity, and insulation resistance).
Machinery Maintenance Coordination: Partner with the engineering/maintenance team to establish preventive maintenance schedules for heavy machinery (extrusion lines, drawing machines, armoring lines).
Cost & Material Management: Optimize raw material consumption (Copper, Aluminum, PVC compounds, Steel wires) and implement lean manufacturing principles to drive down cost per meter.
HSE & Workforce Management: Enforce strict Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards on the factory floor. Manage plant labor, shifts, and productivity KPIs.
Key Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree / HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Production Management.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 4 years in a supervisory role explicitly within a cable, wire, or heavy plastics extrusion plant.
Competencies: Deep technical understanding of wire drawing, annealing, and extrusion processes; strong leadership and conflict resolution skills on the production floor; proficiency in ERP/production software.
