Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and implement production plans and schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
Ensure efficient utilization of resources, including raw materials, equipment, and labor.
Monitor and adjust production plans as needed to optimize productivity and minimize waste.
Lead and manage production supervisors, operators, and workshop support staff with equity and fairness.
Provide clear direction, guidance, and support to achieve production targets.
Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
In liaison with the HR Lead, conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for skill development.
Institute and lead the quality control and assurance committee as required.
Implement and enforce strict quality control measures throughout the production process.
Monitor all product quality and ensure compliance with specifications, industry standards, and the organization's core values.
Investigate and resolve any production issues or quality concerns promptly in close liaison with the Directors and key team members as may be necessary.
Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop and improve quality control procedures, including terms of reference from time to time as may be necessary.
Continuously evaluate production processes, identify and recommend opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce labor and material costs, and enhance overall productivity.
Drive Lean manufacturing principles, such as 5S, Six Sigma, and Kaizen, to optimize operations. Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure adequate and timely supply of raw materials.
Monitor inventory levels, implement effective inventory control measures, and ensure high stock accuracy.
Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment, including the use of provided PPE.
Conduct regular safety audits, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions, including root cause analysis with recommendations for all incidents and accidents.
Provide employees with training and resources to promote safety awareness and best practices.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field.
Relevant certifications and advanced degrees are an added advantage.
At least 5 years of proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role within the manufacturing industry.
Strong knowledge of wood product manufacturing processes, including machinery, assembly, finishing, and packaging.
Familiarity with quality control standards and policies.
