Job Summary


The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of chemical production activities, ensuring efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance with industry regulations.
This role requires strong leadership and a deep understanding of chemical manufacturing processes to drive productivity while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental practices.


Key Responsibilities


Plan, coordinate, and control all manufacturing operations to meet production targets in line with company objectives.
Oversee the formulation, blending, batching, and packaging processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality.
Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations (e.g., NAFDAC, SON, ISO standards).
Supervise, train, and develop the production team, including supervisors, technicians, and operators.
Monitor production performance, analyze KPIs, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Coordinate with Quality Control, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other departments for seamless operations.
Develop and manage production budgets, minimize waste, and optimize resource utilization.
Ensure proper maintenance of plant machinery and equipment in coordination with the engineering team.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., lean manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen) to improve efficiency and product quality.
Prepare regular production reports and present updates to senior management.


Qualifications and Experience


B.Sc./HND in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or related discipline.
Minimum of 9 - 12years' experience in chemical or related manufacturing industries, with at least 6years in a managerial role.
Proven experience in managing production teams and processes in a regulated environment.

In-depth knowledge of chemical production processes and quality systems.
Sound understanding of HSE standards and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in production planning tools and ERP systems.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
