Job Purpose


To supervise and coordinate day-to-day pharmaceutical production activities, ensuring that products are manufactured safely, efficiently, and in compliance with GMP, SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Production Supervisor will lead production personnel, monitor manufacturing processes, and ensure that production targets are achieved without compromising product quality or safety.


Key Responsibilities

Production Operations


Supervise daily production activities in assigned manufacturing areas.
Ensure production targets are achieved according to approved production plans and schedules.
Monitor manufacturing processes including dispensing, granulation, blending, compression, encapsulation, coating, and packaging, as applicable.
Ensure proper utilization of production equipment, materials, and manpower.
Monitor production output, process efficiency, downtime, and rejection rates.
Coordinate with Warehouse, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Engineering teams to resolve production issues.
Ensure proper line clearance and equipment readiness before commencement of production activities.


GMP & Compliance


Ensure all production activities are performed in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and approved SOPs.
Ensure production personnel follow approved Batch Manufacturing Records (BMRs), Batch Packaging Records (BPRs), and other controlled documents.
Ensure proper documentation and recording of production activities in real time.
Report deviations, incidents, non-conformances, and abnormal process conditions promptly.
Support investigations, CAPA implementation, change controls, and other quality-related activities.
Maintain high standards of hygiene, housekeep


Qualifications


B.Sc./B.Pharm/HND in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Relevant professional certification or membership will be an added advantage.
Good knowledge of GMP, GLP, SOPs, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.


Experience


Minimum of 5 - 10 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Previous experience in a supervisory or team-lead position is preferred.
Experience in tablet, capsule, liquid, or other pharmaceutical production operations is an advantage.
Practical knowledge of pharmaceutical production equipment and manufacturing processes.
