PURPOSE OF POSITION

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Practice within scope of practice as a Registered Nurse.
Surgical scrub and go into the surgery with the surgical patient and doctors.
Set up the operating room for the patient.
Ensure all the tools are sterile and ready to go.
To ensure that theatre is always running at the highest standards.
Ensure safety, quality patient care in theatre.
Lead and supervise staff in theatre.
Equipment maintenance and motivations.
Teaching staff in the unit.
Comply with SANC and stakeholder legislation.
COMPETENCIES (The following will be advantageous)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
(Educational Qualifications & Experience)
Matric is essential.
Relevant diploma/ degree in essential.
Atleast 2 years' experience as a scrub nurse is essential.
Diploma in medical and surgical nursing science/equivalent or related to will be an added advantage.
Working experience as a recovery nurse will be an added advantage.
Must be able to practice within your scope of practice as a Registered Nurse.
Must be competent with the Hospital's Policies and Regulations.
Must have experience in handling drugs and scheduling is a legal requirement.
Must be prepared to work additional hours.
Must be able to work independently under minimum supervision.
Must be computer literate - MS Word & Excel.
