For Appointment as a Professor:


A PhD in Physics.
A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution or 7 years of relevant professional experience.
A proven research record with at least 15 publications in accredited journals, including book chapters and at least one book publication.
Demonstrated experience in supervising at least four Master's or Doctoral students to completion.


For Appointment as an Associate Professor:


A PhD in Physics.
A minimum of 10 years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution or 7 years of relevant professional experience.
A strong research portfolio with at least 10 publications in accredited journals, including book chapters and a book publication.
Proven supervision of at least four Master's or Doctoral students.


For Appointment as a Senior Lecturer:


A PhD in Physics.
At least 5 years of teaching experience at a tertiary institution or 7 years of relevant professional experience.
A minimum of 5 publications in accredited journals, including book chapters and a book publication.
Evidence of supervision of at least five Honours-level postgraduate students.


Duties


Deliver high-quality teaching in Classical and Quantum Mechanics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Conduct and supervise physics laboratory experiments.
Demonstrate familiarity with the University's teaching, learning, and academic policies to effectively carry out academic responsibilities.
Engage in individual and collaborative research projects, contributing to the department's research output.
Present research findings at conferences, workshops, and academic forums.
Supervise Honours, MSc, and PhD research projects within the department.
Establish and maintain collaborative research partnerships within the University and with external institutions.
Contribute to a positive departmental culture, demonstrating teamwork and collegiality.
Participate in curriculum development and ensure compliance with the University's academic standards and quality assurance processes.
Support the Head of Department with administrative responsibilities, including committee participation, timetabling, admissions, and orientation of first-year students.
Assist in organizing field trips and staff development workshops.
Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
Effectively communicate complex and conceptual ideas to students and colleagues with varying levels of expertise.
