REQUIREMENTS:
PROFESSOR:
PHD in Hydrology and Water Resources or related areas of Water Resources Engineering
At least ten (10) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution or seven (7) years professional experience in the relevant field
At least fifteen (15) articles published in accredited journals, chapters in a book, and book publication
Evidence of supervision of at least four (4) Master's and/or Doctoral students
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR:
PHD in Hydrology and Water Resources or related areas of Water Resources Engineering
At least ten (10) years teaching experience in a tertiary institution or seven (7) years professional experience in the relevant field
At least ten (10) articles published in accredited journals, chapters in a book, and book publication.
Evidence of supervision of at least four (4) Master's and/or Doctoral students
Duties:
Lecture principles and applied aspects of surface water hydrology, water supply, and sanitation to undergraduate students
Initiate, find funding for, perform, and publish research
Supervise honours, master's, and PhD students
Initiate, participate in community engagement projects
Assist the department in developing and improving its curricula
Take part in departmental strategic planning workshops
Perform administrative tasks if required by the HoD
Conducting an active research programme in collaboration with others within and outside the Department and/or university.
Publishing research results in accredited, high-impact national and international journals.
Mentor young academics on research and publication.
Lead or participate in community engagement projects
Effective involvement in the community engagement activities of the department.
Active participation in the administration of the Department.
