Position Overview
The Program Officer will play a crucial role in monitoring and mentoring students at various schools funded by the Mastercard Foundation. He/she will also create awareness to win stakeholders' commitment to end Teen pregnancy and Child Marriage; strengthen social accountability among the duty bearers; and enhance agency among young people to demand their sexual and reproductive health and rights.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences or a related Humanities field is preferred.
At least two years' experience in girls' education and prior experience implementing or managing a scholarship programme
Valid Certificate of Good Conduct (issued within the last 6 months).
Experience in programme implementation and management within education programming is an added advantage.
Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
A broad grasp of socio-cultural and economic issues with respect to teenage pregnancy
Ability to travel by road to the field
Experience working with county governments, civil society, partners and local communities
Detailed understanding and experience of gender and diversity issues and individual commitment to addressing inequalities in all the key areas of responsibility.
