Job Summary


The Project Accountant will lead the financial oversight and lifecycle management for our capital projects, ensuring fiscal precision and the seamless execution of our real estate technology investments.
This role requires a meticulous financial expert with a proven track record in monitoring project progress, optimizing capital records, and executing rigorous expense controls to ensure full alignment with contractual guidelines.


Key Responsibilities


Identify new market opportunities and customer segments for HR Tech solutions.
Oversee Project Accounting Function across multiple locations.
Ensure accurate financial reporting for each project. and oversee other project accountants
Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure alignment with financial forecasts.


Budget Management:


Assist in preparing project budgets and financial plans.
Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs, providing explanations and corrective actions.


Financial Reporting:


Prepare periodic financial reports, including profit and loss statements and cash flow analyses.
Present financial summaries to the Financial Controller and project managers.


Compliance and Audit:


Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
Prepare documentation for audits and assist external auditors as needed.


Team Supervision:


Supervise and mentor on-site project accountants, providing guidance and support.
Conduct performance evaluations and facilitate professional development opportunities.


Communication:


Liaise with project managers and stakeholders regarding financial matters.
Facilitate clear communication of financial status and expectations to the Financial Controller.


Process Improvement:


Identify opportunities for process improvements in project accounting practices.
Implement best practices for financial management across projects.


Risk Management:


Assess financial risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.
Monitor financial performance and suggest corrective actions as necessary


Record Keeping:


Maintain accurate and organized financial records for all projects. Ensure timely processing of invoices, payments, and financial documentation.
Preparation of management account viz a viz financial statements, budget reports, forecasts, cost analysis reports, and profit or loss statements, as well as make recommendations for spending or cost cuts.
Administration of the company's tax payment system, including the compilation and remittance of Staff PAYE tax deducted, Staff pension contribution, VAT collected, and withholding tax deducted and interact with tax and other regulatory/statutory authorities.
Interact with the internal and external auditors.


Requirements


8+ years in B2B SaaS sales, with 4+ years in a leadership role (HR Tech experience preferred).
BSc. in Accounting, Finance or relevant course.
Certification in ICAN/ACCA is compulsory
Must have a minimum of 5 years working in accounting systems.
Must have experience in preparing and reviewing cash flow for multiple departments, revenue streams, or projects with roll-ups.
Experience in budgeting process.
Must have a minimum of 3 years in job cost, cost accounting and/or construction accounting.
Must have understanding in capital and fixed asset accounting.
Understanding of commercial insurance policies.
Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
Must have excellent organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook applications.
Proficiency in Accounting Systems.
Ability to learn new systems and procedures with ease.
Ability to read and understand contracts and scopes of work.
