We invite applications from suitably qualified academics from accredited universities to serve as Project Co-Supervisors for our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
As a leading private Open and Distance Learning (ODL) institution, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic quality, integrity and excellence and Project Co-Supervisors will play a crucial role in this process.
This call is open to scholars with demonstrated expertise the academic discipline offered by the University.


Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:


Academic Rank: The candidate must not be below the rank of Senior Lecturer.
A Reader or Professor are often the preferred choice, especially for postgraduate research supervision.
Qualification: Must possess a minimum of a Ph.D. in their field of expertise from an accredited institution.
Experience: Must have relevant expertise in their specialization.
Demonstrated track record of postgraduate supervision and research publications in reputable, peer-reviewed journals .


Candidates must not have any conflict of interest, including but not limited to:


Current or recent employment with Iconic Open University (within the last three years)
Close professional, contractual, or personal relationships with staff or students involved in the programme
Significant involvement in recent collaborative research with staff closely involved in the programme
Reciprocal arrangements involving cognate programmes at another institution
Former students of the University (unless a period of five years has elapsed and all students taught by or with the examiner have completed their programmes)


Additional Preferred Qualifications:


Strong publication record in reputable journals within the last three years.
Experience in Open and Distance Learning (ODL) environments.
Evidence of leadership in research and postgraduate


Tenure


External Examiners and Project Co-Supervisors will be engaged on a contractual basis over a period of time with specified duties and roles that may change from time to time.


Application Processes


Step 1: Expression of Interest

Interested candidates must submit an independent application to Iconic Open University, expressing their interest in serving as a project supervisor.


Step 2: Review of applications and invitation for a due-deligence interaction virtually.
Step 3: Transmission of the evaluation outcome for Senate consideration and approval.
Step 4: Official Appointment

Upon Senate approval, successful candidates will receive an official letter of appointment with conditions of contract and terms of reference.
