Role Description


This is a full-time, on-site Project Manager role based in Port Harcourt. The Project Manager will oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of civil engineering and building projects from inception to completion, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, quality standards, and timelines. Daily responsibilities include coordinating project teams, contractors, and suppliers; managing resources, materials, and equipment; and monitoring project progress through regular site inspections and status reports. The role will also involve preparing and reviewing project documentation, risk assessments, and work plans, as well as ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. The Project Manager will liaise with clients and stakeholders, address issues promptly, support procurement and logistics activities, and drive continuous improvement in project delivery.


Responsibilities


Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement construction plans and schedules, working with architects, engineers, and other professionals.
Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring projects stay within allocated funds.
Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel.
Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Quality Control: Ensure that construction work meets quality standards and complies with relevant regulations.
Safety Management: Implement and maintain safety protocols on the construction site to protect workers and others.
Progress Reporting: Track project progress and report on timelines, budget status, and any issues encountered.
Change Order Management: Handle changes to project plans and specifications, ensuring they are properly documented and managed.


Qualifications


Strong project delivery capabilities, including Project Management skills for planning, coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and stakeholder communication.
Experience with Expeditor and Expediting activities to track materials, follow up with suppliers, and ensure timely availability of project resources.
Inspection skills to oversee site works, verify quality, and ensure adherence to engineering standards, specifications, and HSE requirements.
Logistics Management skills to coordinate the movement, storage, and allocation of equipment, materials, and personnel across multiple sites.
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant professional certifications (e.g. COREN) is an advantage.
Proven experience managing large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects, preferably within EPC or construction environments.
Sound knowledge of construction methods, contract management, and cost control, with proficiency in project management and scheduling software.
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and culturally diverse teams.
Demonstrated commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards and the ability to enforce HSE
