The Position
Energy 4 Impact is seeking a proactive and wellÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂorganised Project Officer to support the delivery of a UK PACTÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂfunded clean energy project in Nigeria. Based in Abuja, the Project Officer will play a central role in coordinating field activities, strengthening relationships with government and community stakeholders, and ensuring smooth collaboration across internal teams. The role requires strong coordination, administrative discipline, project management and an understanding of clean energy and climateÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂaligned development. This is a 10ÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂmonth contract focused on highÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂquality implementation and effective stakeholder engagement.
Essential Responsibilities
Field Coordination & Implementation 30%
Lead dayÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂtoÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂday coordination of field activities across project locations, ensuring alignment with the workplan and UK PACT requirements.
Organize and oversee community engagement sessions, capacityÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂbuilding workshops, field demonstrations, and stakeholder consultations related to clean energy and climate resilience.
Support technical teams to translate programme guidance into practical, wellÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂexecuted field interventions.
Track progress of field activities, identify bottlenecks, and coordinate timely solutions with relevant teams.
CrossÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂTeam Liaison 20 %
Serve as the operational link between field activities and internal teams (operations, finance, and programme).
Coordinate logistics, procurement requests, travel arrangements, and asset needs with the operations team.
Work closely with finance teams to support budgeting, cash forecasts, reconciliations, and compliance with UK PACT financial procedures.
Collaborate with programmer teams to ensure field activities reflect technical priorities and deliver expected outputs.
Government & Stakeholder Engagement 20%
Build and maintain strong working relationships with federal, state, and local government counterparts, ensuring alignment with Nigeria's clean energy and climate priorities.
Facilitate government participation in project activities, including training, consultations, and field missions.
Engage community leaders, privateÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂsector actors, and local partners to strengthen ownership, participation, and sustainability of project interventions.
Represent Energy 4 Impact in local coordination forums and relevant stakeholder platforms.
Administrative & Logistical Management 20%
Lead administrative processes for field planning, including scheduling, documentation, approvals, and reporting.
Maintain accurate and compliant records of field activities, participant lists, meeting minutes, and other required documentation.
Ensure all field operations adhere to Energy 4 Impact and UK PACT policies, safeguarding standards, and health & safety protocols.
Support risk assessments and mitigation planning for field activities.
Monitoring, Reporting & Learning 10%
Collect field data, feedback, and observations to inform programme reporting and adaptive management.
Contribute to monthly and quarterly reports, case studies, and lessons learned in line with UK PACT reporting formats.
Support monitoring visits and ensure timely followÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂup on action points.
Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills
Diploma or bachelor's degree in energy, environmental studies, development studies, project management, or a related field.
3 - 5 years of experience coordinating field activities in development, climate, or energyÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂrelated programs in Nigeria.
Experience working with government institutions, communities, and diverse stakeholders.
Strong coordination, logistics, and administrative skills, with experience managing multiÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂpartner field operations.
Familiarity with donorÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂfunded projects (experience with UK PACT or similar programs is an advantage).
Excellent communication, organization, and problemÃÂâÃÂÃÂÃÂÃÂsolving abilities.
Ability to travel frequently and manage multiple priorities within tight timelines.
