Key Responsibilities
Strategic Project Financial Planning & Oversight
Lead development of project financial frameworks, policies, and cost-control standards across all projects.
Oversee preparation and consolidation of project budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and long-term financial plans.
Provide strategic guidance to improve project profitability, cost efficiency, and working capital optimization.
Project Cost Control & Governance
Implement and enforce strong project cost control mechanisms including cost allocation, commitment tracking, and spend authorization processes.
Review and approve major project financial transactions including supplier invoices, subcontractor claims, work orders, and material costs.
Conduct periodic project performance reviews focusing on margins, variances, cost-to-complete, and risk exposure.
Revenue Assurance & Billing Management
Oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Ensure timely and accurate client invoicing supported by BOQs, completion certificates, variation orders, and other documentation.
Monitor receivables ageing and collaborate with project teams and clients to resolve billing disputes.
Contract, Risk & Compliance Management
Review and validate financial terms in project contracts, purchase orders, and subcontractor agreements.
Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, internal policies, tax obligations, and audit standards.
Maintain complete audit-ready project financial documentation and lead project financial audits.
Financial Reporting & Stakeholder Collaboration
Prepare comprehensive project financial reports for senior leadership, including profitability analysis, WIP schedules, and risk dashboards.
Serve as the key liaison between Finance and project delivery teams, procurement, engineering, and commercial departments.
Provide data-driven insights to support strategic decision-making and operational excellence across all projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
CPA (K), ACCA, or equivalent professional certification (mandatory).
Master's degree in Finance or Business Administration (an added advantage).
Experience
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in project finance, project accounting, or cost control preferably in electrical, mechanical, and engineering project environments.
Strong expertise in project costing, WIP accounting, revenue recognition, and project financial modelling.
Hands-on experience with ERP/project management systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial modeling, dashboards, and analytics
