Job Description


We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Leasing Specialist to join our Property Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive lease administration support, managing lease agreements, ensuring contractual compliance, and liaising with internal and external stakeholders across our retail property portfolio.
This role offers an exciting opportunity for a legal professional with retail leasing experience to play a critical role in managing lease documentation, contractual obligations, and property-related transactions.


Responsibilities
Lease Administration and Contract Management


Draft, review, vet, and finalize lease agreements and property-related contracts.
Review and negotiate lease terms with landlords and external service providers.
Process and maintain lease records within the Lease Management System.
Monitor lease compliance and contractual obligations.
Administer lease processes relating to new, existing, relocated, expanded, and renewed stores.
Monitor lease expiries, anniversaries, and critical contractual milestones.
Ensure the timely exercise of renewal and option rights.
Maintain accurate lease files and document management systems.
Manage legal correspondence with landlords and external stakeholders.
Review occupancy costs and provide alternative lease solutions.


Documentation and Legal Support


Draft, format, and prepare leases and various real estate contracts.
Compile and coordinate information required from key stakeholders.
Ensure all property documentation is accurate, compliant, and properly archived.


Stakeholder Engagement


Liaise effectively with Trading Divisions, Store Development, Procurement, Design, landlords, and external suppliers.
Attend meetings with key stakeholders and prepare meeting minutes.
Follow up on action items to ensure timely execution.


Reporting and Analysis


Extract, collate, and analyse lease and property-related data.
Prepare reports on lease information, gross rentals, turnover rentals, and contractual obligations.
Provide lease portfolio insights and recommendations.


Project Support


Provide property-related administrative and project support to business divisions as required.


Qualifications


Degree in Law (LLB) or relevant Legal Qualification.
Minimum 3 years' lease administration experience.
At least 2 years' experience within the retail leasing or commercial real estate environment.
