Purpose Statement
To execute and oversee the leasing of Capitec Bank's property portfolio (retail branches, cash devices, and office spaces), enabling and ensuring optimal distribution, aligning property decisions with business strategy and plans through engaging with internal and external stakeholders in respect of sourcing, negotiation and deal making for portfolio renewals and expansions.
Experience
5 - 8 years' experience in property portfolio management, preferably in a retail banking or commercial real estate environment.
Proven track record in negotiating high-value lease agreements and managing property transactions.
Experience in branch network planning or distribution optimisation across multiple regions.
Demonstrated ability to manage external stakeholders, including landlords, developers and asset managers.
Experience in cross-functional coordination with legal, finance, design and project teams.
Experience in project handovers, beneficial occupation processes and managing property-related risks.
Qualifications (Minimum)
Bachelor's Degree in Law
A relevant degree in Properties & Development or Business Administration
Qualifications (Ideal or Preferred)
Masters Degree in Law
Honours Degree in Properties & Development
Knowledge
Deep knowledge of the property industry, especially in retail and banking environments.
Property portfolio management principles, including leasing, acquisition and disposal of commercial properties.
Lease agreement structures, legal compliance and negotiation tactics.
Branch and cash device distribution strategies, including location feasibility and performance metrics.
Financial principles related to property budgeting, cost optimization and ROI analysis.
Project lifecycle management, especially in property rollout and upgrades.
Stakeholder engagement and vendor management best practices.
