Role Description
The Public Relations Officer at O.K. Isokariari (Nigeria) Limited will manage the company's internal and external communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping our corporate image, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms. This role requires an individual who can act as a professional bridge between the organization and the public, project sites, and corporate partners. This is a full-time on-site role based in Port Harcourt.
Responsibilities
Corporate Communication: Draft and disseminate official internal memos, press releases, and corporate announcements to maintain organizational transparency and employee engagement.
Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain professional relationships with community leaders, government agencies, and corporate clients to support company objectives.
Reputation Management: Monitor and protect the organization's public image; develop strategies to mitigate negative publicity and promote positive achievements.
Event Coordination: Oversee the planning and execution of corporate events, and seminars to ensure professional representation.
Operational Liaison: Collaborate with the HR and Logistics departments to ensure that all public-facing communications—including site notices and project updates—align with company policy.
Crisis Communication: Act as a primary contact for urgent media inquiries, ensuring that all responses are accurate, authorized, and aligned with company strategy.
Qualifications
Proficiency in drafting and distributing press releases, and managing media relations
Strong skills in Public Relations and Communication to foster productive external and internal relationships
Experience in Strategic Communications, including planning and executing campaigns to promote the organization's identity and goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and project management abilities
Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
Familiarity with public relations tools and software is a plus
Awareness of the construction or engineering industry is an added advantage
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
