Role Overview
The QA Tester & Technical Documentation Specialist will be responsible for both executing software testing activities and producing the accompanying technical and QA documentation across Aviation projects. This is role is suited to someone who can validate system functionality against requirements while also clearly documenting test coverage, defects, and process outcomes for internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Testing
Design, execute, and maintain manual and/or automated test cases based on functional and technical requirements
Perform functional, regression, integration, and UAT-support testing across web-based government and enterprise applications
Log, track, and verify resolution of defects using tools such as Jira
Support test planning and align testing activities with recognized standards (e.g., ISO/IEC/IEEE 29119)
Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and project leads to clarify requirements and edge cases
Participate in sprint ceremonies and provide QA status updates
Documentation
Produce and maintain test plans, test cases, test scripts, and test summary reports
Draft and update user guides, process documentation, requirement traceability matrices, and release notes
Translate technical test outcomes into clear documentation for non-technical stakeholders, including client-facing reports
Maintain version control and consistency of QA artifacts (Excel/Jira-based tracking, as required per project)
Support documentation needed for audits, certifications, or compliance reviews
Required Qualifications
Experience in software QA/testing, technical writing, or a combined role
Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, or similar)
Strong written communication skills, with ability to produce clear, structured documentation
Working knowledge of QA/testing standards and methodologies (e.g., ISO 29119)
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills, able to manage multiple concurrent deliverables
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in government, or other regulated-industry software projects
Familiarity with certification, licensing, or compliance-driven system workflows
Experience working with distributed/remote teams and international clients
