Job Purpose
The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, implementation, management, and growth of managed service programs across multiple sectors, with a primary focus on manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and supply chain operations. The role ensures operational excellence, client satisfaction, financial performance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all assigned projects.
The Project Manager serves as the key link between clients and internal teams, ensuring that service delivery consistently meets contractual obligations, operational targets, and broader business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Operations Management
Oversee day-to-day delivery of multiple managed service contracts across diverse industries.
Oversee timely and accurate processing of mid-month and end-month payroll across all projects.
Ensure all projects are delivered in line with contractual Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Ensure all work orders are priced with acceptable margins and adequately funded before execution.
Develop project implementation plans, resource requirements, timelines, and standard operating procedures.
Monitor project performance and implement timely corrective actions where required.
Lead the mobilization and demobilization of new and existing projects.
Develop and maintain business continuity plans across all assigned projects.
Client Relationship Management
Act as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
Conduct regular operational review meetings with clients.
Identify opportunities for service improvement and account growth.
Manage client expectations and resolve escalated operational issues promptly.
Ensure monthly and quarterly performance reports are prepared and shared with clients on schedule.
Financial Management
Develop and manage project budgets.
Monitor project profitability and ensure achievement of gross margin targets.
Review project costings and pricing models for new business opportunities.
Control labour, equipment, consumables, and other operational costs.
Approve project expenditure within delegated authority limits.
Team Leadership & People Management
Lead and supervise Key Accounts Executives, Supervisors, and support teams.
Ensure effective workforce planning and resource allocation.
Drive employee engagement, productivity, and retention initiatives.
Conduct performance reviews and develop growth plans for direct reports.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of project personnel.
Manufacturing, Logistics & Warehousing Operations
Ensure efficient management of outsourced manufacturing support activities.
Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfilment, and dispatch.
Manage logistics operations, including transport coordination, loading, and delivery performance.
Drive productivity improvements through process optimization and lean operational practices.
Quality, Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with client standards, statutory requirements, and company policy.
Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
Lead incident investigations and the implementation of corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with ISO standards, food safety requirements, and applicable industry regulations.
Conduct regular operational audits and risk assessments.
Business Development Support
Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
Participate in client presentations and contract negotiations.
Identify opportunities for contract expansion and value-added services.
Assist with transition planning for newly acquired contracts.
Reporting & Performance Management
Develop and maintain operational dashboards and KPI reports.
Analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
Present project performance reviews to the Country Manager.
Ensure timely submission of operational, financial, and compliance reports.
Qualification and Experience
Education
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Agribusiness, or a related field.
Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 7 - 10 years of progressive operational management experience.
At least 5 years managing outsourced or managed service operations.
Proven track record in manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, distribution, or supply chain operations.
Experience managing multiple client accounts and geographically dispersed teams.
