Role Overview
We are hiring on behalf of our client, Sierra Premium Breweries, for a Quality Team Lead responsible for overseeing and leading the physico-chemical and microbiological laboratories. The role ensures accurate and timely analysis, adherence to sampling plans, and full compliance with quality and food safety standards. This position plays a critical role in supporting production by maintaining consistent product quality, ensuring effective laboratory operations, and guiding a high-performing quality team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Lead and supervise the physico-chemical and microbiology laboratories, ensuring all analyses are conducted accurately and on schedule.
Ensure all laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and used according to standard operating procedures.
Oversee the preparation, availability, and proper handling of reagents, chemicals, and standard solutions.
Review and approve all laboratory test results, ensuring timely reporting with clear recommendations.
Monitor brewing, fermentation, and filtration processes to ensure compliance with required quality standards.
Investigate customer and internal quality complaints and drive corrective and preventive actions.
Conduct and supervise taste tests and train sensory evaluation panelists.
Lead, train, and evaluate laboratory analysts, ensuring strong performance, safety compliance, and continuous development.
Implement and support Quality, Food Safety, HACCP, and QSHE systems, including documentation and risk assessments.
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly quality reports and maintain complete and accurate laboratory records.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, Food Processing Engineering/Technology, or related field.
2 - 4 years' experience in Quality Assurance (physico-chemical and microbiology).
Experience in the beverage industry is highly preferred.
