Job Summary
We are seeking a competent, detail-oriented and commercially minded Quantity Surveyor to support the cost and commercial management of our real estate development projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare cost estimates, budgets and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
Carry out quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings.
Analyse drawings and specifications for accurate measurement and costing.
Obtain and analyse current market prices for materials, labour and services.
Assist with tender preparation, evaluation and contractor selection.
Review contractors' quotations and commercial proposals.
Monitor project costs against approved budgets.
Prepare valuations, payment certificates and cost reports.
Assess variations, claims and additional works.
Support procurement and contractor/vendor negotiations.
Maintain accurate cost records and project documentation.
Participate in site meetings and project reviews.
Assist with contract administration and final accounts.
Advise management on cost control and cost-saving opportunities.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
2 - 5 years' relevant experience in construction or real estate development.
QSRBN membership/registration is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and costs.
Good knowledge of BOQs, measurement, estimating and cost control.
Ability to interpret architectural, structural and engineering drawings.
Good knowledge of tendering and procurement.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and relevant QS software.
CostX, Buildsoft, AutoCAD or similar experience is an advantage.
Strong analytical, numerical, negotiation and communication skills.
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
Willingness to visit project sites when required.
