Our client in the private security sector is seeking to recruit a competent, disciplined, and physically fit Recruitment & Training Officer to manage the sourcing, rigorous vetting, training, and performance monitoring of security personnel.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that security guards recruited and deployed meet the required standards of integrity, discipline, physical fitness, knowledge, and operational readiness.
This position is ideal for a professional with practical experience in private security operations, NYS, or disciplined forces, combined with strong leadership, communication, and training capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and execute recruitment drives for security guards.
Source suitable candidates while ensuring appropriate regional representation.
Screen candidates against established recruitment requirements.
Coordinate recruitment activities and maintain accurate candidate records.
Conduct thorough candidate vetting and verification.
Verify the authenticity of National Identification documents.
Ensure candidates provide valid Certificates of Good Conduct.
Identify and escalate any discrepancies or concerns arising during the vetting process.
Conduct physical drills and theoretical training for security personnel.
Deliver training in accordance with the applicable Private Security Regulatory Authority (PSRA) guidelines and requirements.
Prepare guards for deployment through practical and theoretical instruction.
Identify areas requiring additional or refresher training.
Monitor security personnel throughout their probationary periods.
Evaluate employee performance following deployment.
Identify performance and skills gaps.
Coordinate refresher training and other development interventions.
Support employee engagement and discipline initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Diploma in Security Management, Criminology, or another related field.
At least 3 years experience working in private security operations, NYS, or disciplined forces.
Strong knowledge of security operations and personnel management.
Knowledge of applicable Kenyan Labour and Security Laws.
Strong public speaking and training skills.
Good conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
Physically fit and capable of conducting practical drills.
Strong leadership and employee engagement skills.
