Job Summary
The Regional Sales Manager - East will be responsible for driving revenue growth, market expansion, customer acquisition, and overall sales performance across the Eastern region. The role will provide strategic and operational leadership for sales activities across multiple states, manage key accounts and distribution channels, and ensure the achievement of regional sales and profitability targets. The ideal candidate must have strong multi-state sales experience across Eastern Nigeria, preferably having previously managed a region as a Regional Sales Manager with an established understanding of the market, customer base, distribution network, and competitive landscape.
Job Details
Develop and execute regional sales strategies to achieve revenue, volume, profitability, and market share targets.
Lead sales operations across the Eastern region, including Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo, and other assigned territories.
Set regional sales targets and cascade objectives to Territory/Area Sales Managers and sales representatives.
Lead, coach, and manage the regional sales team to deliver agreed business objectives.
Develop new markets, customers, distributors, dealers, and strategic business opportunities.
Manage and strengthen relationships with key accounts and strategic customers.
Drive market penetration, product visibility, customer acquisition, and revenue growth across the region.
Monitor regional market trends, competitor activities, pricing, customer behaviour, and emerging opportunities.
Develop accurate regional sales forecasts and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
Review sales performance regularly and implement corrective actions where targets are not being achieved.
Manage distributor and channel partner performance and ensure effective market coverage.
Work closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and other functions to ensure effective execution of regional sales plans.
Monitor customer accounts and support effective receivables and collection management.
Conduct regular market visits and customer engagements across the region.
Provide management with regular reports on regional performance, market intelligence, competitor activities, and growth opportunities.
Identify opportunities for product expansion and increased share of wallet within existing accounts.
Represent the company at customer meetings, trade exhibitions, industry events, and other commercial engagements.
Ensure compliance with approved pricing, sales policies, credit terms, reporting standards, and internal controls.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 7 years' relevant sales experience, preferably in FMCG, chemicals, manufacturing, industrial products, building materials, or a related industry.
Proven experience managing sales across multiple states in Eastern Nigeria is essential.
Previous experience as a Regional Sales Manager, Area Sales Manager, Territory Manager, or equivalent multi-state sales leadership role is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated track record of achieving and exceeding regional sales targets.
Strong experience managing and developing sales teams, distributors, dealers, key accounts, and B2B customers.
Strong knowledge of the Eastern Nigerian market, including major commercial locations, customer networks, distribution channels, and competitive landscape.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, business development, analytical, and relationship management skills.
Ability to travel extensively across the region and effectively manage a geographically dispersed sales operation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales management tools.
