The Regulatory Manager is responsible for ensuring full regulatory compliance of Olam Agri's wheat milling and pasta products across manufacturing, sourcing, import/export, labeling, and commercialization. The role acts as the key regulatory interface between internal stakeholders (Operations, QA, R&D, Sales) and external authorities, proactively managing regulatory risks while supporting business growth.

Key Deliverables

Regulatory Compliance & Governance


Ensure full compliance with local, regional, and international animal feed regulations (e.g. Nigeria NAFDAC, SON, EC, FDA, Codex, GMP+, FAMI-QS).
Interpret new and existing regulations affecting wheat milling and pasta ingredients, additives, premixes.
Develop, implement, and maintain regulatory compliance frameworks, SOPs, and internal policies.


Product Registration & Approvals


Lead product registrations, licenses, and renewals for wheat milling and pasta products and raw materials.
Coordinate regulatory submissions, dossiers, technical documentation, and certificates.
Manage ingredient approvals, feed additive compliance, and permissible usage levels.
Ensure compliance with relevant certifications (e.g., ISO 22000:2018, ISO 14001:2015).
Provide regulatory training to internal stakeholders.
Participate in professional organizations and conferences as necessary. (e.g., MAN, AFBTE)
Staying up to date with national and global regulatory requirements and updates.


Strategic Effectiveness


Conducting regulatory risk assessments and implementing mitigation strategies.
Manage electronic submissions on government apps like NesPAM, NAPAMS
Coordinate and follow up with regulatory agencies during review processes to ensure a timely release of certificates.
Manage product registrations and renewals.
Ensure labeling and packaging compliance.
Maintain regulatory files and documentation.
Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., R&D, Production, Quality, Engineering) to ensure timely close-out of feedbacks
Communicate regulatory requirements to internal stakeholders.
Negotiate with regulatory agencies and resolve issues.
Participate in internal audits and quality inspections.
Implement corrective actions and preventive measures.


Requirements

Education


Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or related discipline
Master's degree or professional certification is an advantage


Experience


5 - 7+ years of regulatory or quality/regulatory experience in FMCG, food, or agri‑commodities
Strong familiarity with feed regulations, additives, labeling, and import/export rules
Experience working with manufacturing plants and multi‑country regulatory frameworks
Prior experience in large multinational or commodity/agri-business preferred
