Job Summary


To ensure the food factory operates in full compliance with local, national, and international food safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
The officer safeguards product integrity, consumer safety, and the company's reputation by monitoring, auditing, and enforcing compliance practices.


Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance:


Monitor and interpret food safety laws, regulations, and standards (e.gHACCP, ISO 22000, NAFDAC).
Ensure factory operations comply with government regulations and certification requirements.
Prepare and submit regulatory documentation, permitsand licenses.


Policy Development:


Develop, implement, and update compliance policies and procedures.
Train staff on regulatory requirements, hygiene practices and compliance protocols.


Auditing & Monitoring:


Conduct internal audits and inspections of production processes, storageand distribution.
Identify non-compliance issues and recommend corrective actions.
Liaise with external auditors and regulatory agencies during inspections.
Risk Management
Assess risks related to food safety, labeling, packaging, and distribution.
Investigate compliance breaches and implement preventive measures.
Documentation & Reporting


Cross-Functional Collaboration:


Work closely with production, quality assurance, procurementand logistics teams.
Ensure suppliers and contractors meet compliance standards.
Maintain accurate compliance records, audit reports, and regulatory submissions.
Report compliance status to management and recommend improvements.

Requirements & Qualifications


Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry or related field.
Professional certifications in food safety/regulatory compliance (e.g HACCP, ISO 22000, FSSC).
3 - 5 years of experience in food manufacturing compliance or regulatory affairs.
Willingness to travel within the assigned area.

Other Requirements:


Must be based in Ibadan and willing to travel to Lagos as required for official assignments.
Must have strong working relationships and professional experience liaising with key regulatory agenciesparticularly NAFDAC and SON.
Must currently be responsible for managing regulatory affairs and compliance activities on a day-to-day basis within a reputable organization.
Must possess a sound understanding of the standard operating procedures (SOPs), regulatory requirements, and approval processes of NAFDAC and SON.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
Excellent communication, organizationaland stakeholder management skills will be an added advantage.
