Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan) is partnering with Global Affairs Canada to implement Kenya Blue Economy Skills Training (KBEST) Program. KBEST is a seven-year program (2022-2029) implemented in close collaboration with the Kenya Ministry of Education, primarily through the State Department of Vocational and Technical Training’s Directorate of TVET, the State Department for Blue Economy and Fisheries and the State Department for Shipping and Maritime Affairs. The main goal of KBEST is to have youth, especially young women, equipped with job- and business-ready skills to contribute to key economic sectors associated with the BE in Kenya.
Colleges and Institutes Canada is planning to undertake infrastructure renovations works (non-structural works) in select partner TVET institutions within Lake and Coastal regions and invites proposals from qualified Construction Project Management Companies to support in this work. The work is expected to be carried out between December 2025 and December 2026 (actual work and schedule to be approved by CICan).The work entails:
